TEHRAN -- Thirty poets from 30 countries will take part in Iran’s Foreign and Iranian and Poets Conference on October 19.

The conference will begin in Tehran and continue in Isfahan, with the closing ceremony to be held in Shiraz, the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance official Mostafa Omidi told MNA.
The conference will be held in Tehran’s Vahdat Hall, the University of Tehran and the Tarbiat Modares University during which poetry recitation, reading of papers and giving of lectures would be held.
“We asked many of Iran’s cultural attaché’s offices in other countries as well as the embassies located in Tehran for cooperation,” Omidi mentioned.
He went on to say that the ministry of culture has budgeted for the expenses and they will not face any financial hardship as a result of holding the conferences.
The guest poets are not familiar with the Persian language nor do they compose poetry in Persian and finally, the conference will not be dedicated to Persian, he added.
The secretary of the conference will be Musa Bidag and the event is complimentary to the Fajr International Poetry Festival, he concluded.
